Well, I have been having this problem now for a week or so. I havent used FS-Blaze since last fire season and on my other Hard Drive(Copied my old HD to this new one) it worked fine. So, I go into it, click on FS-Blaze, click on create fires, wait a few seconds, then BAM, "Reading of fire data failed: File not found". I dont understand why this is happening, it worked before. I can load a .txt fire and it shows up and works fine, it just cant download the data. Im wondering if it could be due to an Avast! or Zonealarm update. Any ideas?

I have the same problem.  This has always worked in the past.  Keep getting the download error.  It says on the main screen that it is connecting.  Tried loading the new version and it keeps saying that Windows has encountered an error and must close the program.

Hope you can help out.

Seems there's been some changes at the NOAA site for FTP, including some new types of data.  I'll see if I can make a quick fix for FS-Blaze, and then see if I can use the fancy new data!

More shortly...and thanks ALL!

I was able to go to the site manually and download the .txt file for the "Current Analyzed Fires" and successfully load it with FS-Blaze.

Where exactly on the NOAA site did you find the fire information in text? I could only find satelite imagery there.

1.) http://www.firedetect.noaa.gov/viewer.htm

2.) then look to the left side Layer/ Legend

3.) scroll it down, you'll see two buttons refresh map and download

4.) choose download an then analyzed fires and text format

5.) maybe current day or last 2 days or what ever

Thats all!  Wink

I went to here - http://satepsanone.nesdis.noaa.gov/FIRE/fire.html then I clicked submit and it takes you to whatever page you requested. Only problem is I cant seem to actually download it or anything, I click on the .txt version and it says connecting then it says failed to load.

Ya I understand that and I am doing that but for some reason it wont download. I click save as, it never starts downloading. The only way I got it before is I had a friend download it for me and send it to me. Maybe its an Avast! or Zonealarm problem...

Hi all,
Here is a version of the FS-Blaze executable which should be aware of the new FTP address.

Please test; if it works, I'll release a new "full" package.

I am also really pleased with some of the other new data available via NOAA.  I'm hoping to work on the FSX version and add some new functionality...
